Patna, May 25: The matriculation result of the Bihar School Examination Board was declared today.
Shalini Yadav of Ghanshyam Balika High School, Khagaul District-Patna,Bihar has topped the examinations by scoring 460 marks out of 500. Bihar human resource development (HRD) department minister P.K. Shahi announced the results and said: “Lots of students from remote areas have performed exceedingly well this year though this was not the situation earlier. The number is remarkably higher as compared to previous years. Schools in remote areas have churned out successful students. This is a good sign.”
Shekhar Suman of Janta High School, Adsar has secured the second position with 455 marks.
Moreover, three students — Sanjeet Kumar of Sahyogi High School, Hajipur, District-Vaishali Mohammad Gufran Alam of Rosera High School, Rosera District-Samastipur,Bihar and Himanshu Kumar of RN High School, Samartha, District-Samastipur,Bihar — have secured 454 marks and have jointly been ranked third.
Shahi added: “Out of 41 students securing the top 15 positions, 13 are girls. Nine are from Patna whereas the topper Shalini Yadav is from Khagaul,District-Patna.”
Chhotu Kumar of High School Amarpura, Patna is among the two students securing fifth position with 451 marks. Another student from the same school, Manish Kumar has secured the sixth position with 450 marks. Two more students have secured the same position.
Four students with 449 marks each have got the seventh position. Among these is one from Patna Priyanka Gunjan of SRP Balika High School, Kankerbagh, Patna. On the eighth position is Alisha Shashank of St Joseph’s Convent High School with 447 marks. Another student has secured the eighth position.
There are two students on the ninth position with 446 marks, one of them being Riya Kumari of High School, Neora Patna. Megha Verma is on the 13th position with 442 marks from St Joseph’s Convent High School. Three more students have secured the same position. There are five students who have secured the 14th position among which two are from Patna.
All of them have secured 441 marks. They are Nitish Kumar of SMGK High School, Masaurhi Patna and Vikash Kumar of High School, Amarpura Patna.
About 15.56 per cent (1,43,864 students) have secured first class whereas 32.93 per cent (3,04,385 students) have secured second-class marks. About 18.71 per cent (1,72,971 students) have secured third class. The pass percentage is 67.21 (6,21,220). Around 15.54 per cent boys (1,43,700) and 16.88 girls (1,56,016) have failed. The results of 0.09 per cent (899 students) are pending.
